This spoilt our visit from the outset. John Bowes, the founder of the Bowes Museum, is sitting on a boulder with game lying at his side. Don’t miss the stunning new galleries, exciting exhibitions and events, acclaimed Café Bowes, inviting shop and, of course, the magical Silver Swan.
