At long last, "Nutcracker, the Motion Picture", Carroll Ballard's film of the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Maurice Sendak designed production is available on an official Region One DVD from MGM, the film's current owner. This is the best Nutcracker movie I have seen by far. The peacock dance to Araibe music is stunning! Like brunch with girlfriends, provides encouragement and tips for balancing family life and your creative work. The DVD was not scratched at all, the movie played perfectly and looks very clear!. Every year around Christmas for the past decade I have been looking on Amazon to see if this wonderful daptation has finally become available.
