With three malls, many supermarkets, restaurants and a park, I never have to go out of my neighborhood in need of something.

So despite its lack of some things, getting to an area that has what you're looking for is generally simple. Full of Tudor-style homes and large yards, this is a quiet and safe community for families and professionals. Rockaway Beach is the only legal surfing beach in the city, and there is plenty of sand for sunbathing. I was Bar Mitzvah'd at the Hillcrest Jewish Center. Movies were at the Utopia Theater.

This family-friendly Queens neighborhood is well-liked by residents for its safe streets, ample parks, and great schools. Very family oriented area where you can see families or kids riding their bikes to the area stores or the beach. After living here for the past 15 years, it's been the best neighborhood I've ever lived in, albeit during the school year it's a little noisy in the afternoons. Overall a quiet, safe community and a great place to raise a family. Entertainment options are somewhat limited in this part of Queens, but Forest Hills amenities are nearby.

I love the beach and living right on the ocean. Neighborhoods: Long Island City In-Depth. The greenery is so beautiful here, there’s flowers and trees everywhere. The zone middle schools in this area are much better than IS237 in Flushing.

I’m near every mode of transportation, so whenever I want to go to Manhattan, it’s only 30 minutes away by train.
