We’ve been together a very long time, and imagining a world outside of what we have is hard to do. If you were truly endless, really and truly eternal, you’d go mad.

I hope she’ll find some other happiness, because at some point, after all the fighting and the boredom and the creeping spread of age, you realize that love was never about any of that.
